·         To Be Heard Scholarship Slam
o   Due: September 08, 2014
o   When you write, who are you hoping will hear it?  Your parents, your siblings, your classmates and friends? People from your past, or people you haven’t met yet? Do you write to forge new connections, or strengthen ones you’ve already got? To give yourself closure? To ask for help you need, or maybe to help somebody else? You might write without a specific person in mind – or you may just write just for yourself! No matter who you hope will hear you, write a poem, in any form or style you choose.

·         National Foundation for Women Legislators - Bill of Rights Essay Contest
o   Due: September 12, 2014
o   For Female high school Seniors. Select a section of the 14th Amendment and write an essay applying its principles to a currently pressing issue facing our country.
o   Amount: $3,000

·         Hispanic Heritage Foundation Youth Award
o   Due: September 15, 2014
o   High school Seniors of Hispanic descent who demonstrate leadership in the classroom and community. 3.0 GPA.
o   Amount: $1,000

·         Institute of Hispanic Culture of Houston Scholarship
o   Due: September 19, 2014
o   For Houston Metropolitan area graduating HS seniors and college students majoring or minoring in the Humanities or Social Sciences related to the Hispanic Culture. GPA of 3.0 or higher.

o   For female, graduating high school seniors from the Greater Houston, TX area with exemplary academic records and demonstrated leadership potential.

o   QuestBridge is a program that links bright, motivated low-income students with the educational and scholarship opportunities at the nation's best colleges. Student must be involved in the QuestBridge program to qualify for scholarship.
o   Amount: Full Four Year Scholarships

·         Don't Text and Drive Scholarship
o   Due: September 30, 2014
o   Complete the application form including a 140-character message about texting while driving. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about texting while driving.
o   Amount: $1,500

·         GoVets
o   Due: September 30, 2014
o   Must be a U.S. Veteran, spouse or child of a U.S. Veteran and currently enrolled in, or planning to enroll in continuing education and must be a legal resident of the U.S.
o   Amount: $2,500

·         JW Surety Bonds Scholarship
o   Due: September 30, 2014
o   Submit an informational article of between 500 and 2,000 words on one of the sponsor approved topics listed on website to qualify award. Videos of between one and five minutes and slide shows of between 10 and 50 slides are also acceptable.

o   Register to enter a random drawing for scholarship.
o   Amount: $500

o   Tell us how your vision or design of the helicopter of 2050 will help overcome global challenges. Ages 9 - 16.

Hey, very nice site. I came across this on Google, and I am stoked that I did. I will definitely be coming back here more often. Wish I could add to the conversation and bring a bit more to the table,but am just taking in as much info as I can at the moment. Thanks for sharing.
