- Amount: $18,000

- Sam Houston State University
- A competitive 4-year “last dollar” scholarship granted to students based on academics, need, and leadership
- Available for application for graduating Texas high school seniors
- Apply in fall of senior year through the offices of Financial Aid at the universities listed above
- Jones Scholars Program
- Opens: November 18, 2013
- Due: End of January
- 322 students will be selected as Jones Scholars
- Need-based program that meets uncovered financial need, before loans, over a four- to six - year period
- Expected to attend a 4-year college or university
- Must enroll full time in the fall semester immediately following graduation from high school and successfully complete 12 credit hours each semester
