    • Due: April 15, 2014
    • Be a high school senior or current college student planning to attend or enrolled in an accredited, non-profit, four year college or university in the United States in the fall of 2014 or must be the parent or legal guardian of an eligible student. 
    • Be a US citizen or legal permanent resident

    • Full-time enrollment in a United States Department of Education accredited community college, four-year university, or graduate/professional program within the United States and Puerto Rico during the period for which scholarship is requested

    • Strong writing skills
    • Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, asylees, or individuals who are lawfully authorized to work full-time without restriction for any U.S. employer and who, at the time of application, possess lawful evidence of employment authorization.

  • 2014 Minute Maid Grand Slam For Youth Baseball Scholarship Application 
    • Due: May 7, 2014
    • reside in the Greater Houston Area which is defined as the region where Houston Astros’ games are broadcast 
    • graduate from a public or private secondary school by June 15, 2014; 
    • provide evidence of admission to a post-secondary college or university, including, but not limited to, a junior or community college, in the United States or a United States territory, as well as acceptance of that admission; 
    • complete and submit application along with two adult recommendations by the set deadline; 
    • complete a personal interview with the Minute Maid Grand Slam For Youth Baseball scholarship selection committee if selected as a semifinalist 
    • have participated in an organized youth baseball or softball program which could include but is not limited to T-ball, Little League, Pony League, Church Leagues, YMCA or Boys and Girls Club instructional Leagues, City Sponsored Leagues, Select Teams. Elementary, Middle School or High School Teams, etc.

    • HCC Foundation Scholarship Requirements
      • Due: Varies
      • A wide variety of scholarships are available to Houston Community College students through the HCC Foundation. All scholarships require that the student be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at HCC; many require enrollment in 9 or 12 credit hours. Applicants will be considered for every scholarship for which they appear eligible.

    • Washington/Lincoln Alumni Association Of Dallas, Inc. Dennystine Johnson Memorial Scholarship
      • Due: May 13, 2014
      • Be a graduating senior in good standing from one of the following H.I.S.D. high schools: Jones, Sterling, Jordan, Washington, Kashmere, Wheatley, Madison, Worthing, or Yates
      • Have a grade point average of 78 (C Plus) or higher on a scale of 100 (A).
      • Show financial need.
      • Demonstrate character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through academic achievement, motivation to serve and succeed, leadership in school, and participation in extracurricular activities, civic organizations, or church.

    • Berrien Fragos Thorn Arts Scholarships for Migrant Farmworkers
      • Due: June 1, 2014
      • Minimum 16 years of age
      • Applicant need not be enrolled in school
      • Because there is no essay required, the Letter of Recommendation is very important and should address the quality of both the applicant and the intended project
      • A history of movement to obtain work in agriculture is REQUIRED
